Navy Region Northwest's vast wilderness recreation opportunities are astonishing. Plumb the coastal reefs by scuba diving, practice ‘rapid transit' by whitewater raft on one of our raging rivers, or summit the flanks of a dormant volcano in the high Cascade mountains. Sailors and their families deployed in the greater Puget Sound region, literally, have the wilderness at their doorways - and exploring our local mountains and valleys is a wonderful way to earn that relaxation and peace-of-mind so vital to maintaining a high quality-of-life.
