Kite Flying. Kite Flying
Bring your favorite kite or purchase one from the Gift Shop or an area kite shop. Many local shops will provide free lessons with the purchase of a kite.

Work up a sweat and enjoy an ocean view in our Exercise Room in the Gym complete with all new equipment including treadmills, cross trainers, lifecycle bikes and nautilus equipment.

Beach Combing. Beach Combing
Walk on the beach with your favorite walking stick and look for shells, sand dollars, or driftwood. You might even be lucky enough to find a Japanese glass float. Check the tides, for beach combing is best at low tide.

Whale Watching & Boat Charters. Whale Watching & Boat Charters
Charters are available from the Ocean Shores marina and include whale watching excursions (March through June), deep sea fishing, sport fishing, dinner cruises and scenic trips around Grays Harbor and along the Pacific coastline. All charters currently operate out of the Westport Marina but most will pick up passengers at the Ocean Shores Marina.

Ocean Shores. Ocean Shores
Located just 16 miles south of Pacific Beach on Hwy 109 is Ocean Shores. This community offers several attractions, including Ocean Shores Golf Course and Quinault Beach Resort & Casino. Take the family for an entire day of fun activities such as horseback riding, go-karts, bumper boats, miniature golf, arcades and more. Don't forget to take advantage of the many excellent restaurants while you are there.

The North Beaches. The North Beaches
The North Beach area includes Ocean Shores, then extends north along Highway 109 for nearly 35 miles. Head South on Highway 109 from Pacific Beach for Copalis Beach, Ocean City and Ocean Shores or North to the towns of Moclips and Taholah on the Quinault Indian Reservation. Some of the most spectacular beaches on the West Coast can be found in the North Beach Area.

Olympic National Park. Olympic National Park
Only about 30 minutes from Pacific Beach you'll find some of the most beautiful country on earth. In fact, there are only three temperate rain forests in North America, and all three (Hoh, Queets and Quinault) are part of the Olympic National Park. The historic Lake Quinault Lodge sits on the serene shores of Quinault Lake and offers fabulous views of the lake.

Hoquiam Castle. Hoquiam Castle
The Hoquiam Castle is an 1897 Victorian mansion, which is featured on both the state and National Historic Registers. While it is currently an operating Bed & Breakfast, tours are provided daily from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. The castle provides harbor views, five rooms, private baths, tearoom, ball room, etc.

Ferry to Westport. Ferry to Westport
About 25 minutes south of Pacific Beach is Ocean Shores. A passenger ferry service between Ocean Shores and Westport is available on weekends during spring and fall months, and daily during the summer. The 71 passenger El Matador departs from the Ocean Shores Marina every hour and a half. The 20-minute crossing is always entertaining and delightful.
