Alpine Tower located at Jim Creek Recreation Area is a powerful tool offering fun, education and growth. Its main goals are to develop an increased level of agility and physical coordination, increase mutual support and teamwork within a group, increase participants sense of personal confidence and to develop comfort in oneself and in being with others.
The 50' Alpine Tower has exposed aretes and buttresses but requires little upper body strength to master making it ideal for younger and older populations but made more challenging for others. Participants are on belay at all times while attempting the "high elements" with over 30 route variations including; The Beanstalk, Team Beam, Corporate Ladder, Missing Link, Floating Poles, Diabolical SeeSaw and more.
The "Swing by Choice" is a giant swing with participants choosing their swing height. Low-to-the-ground group initiatives take place within the tower base including; The Perimeter Traverse, Penny in a Hay Stack, Raising the Sphinx, Jungle River, Traffic Jam and more.
Note: Jim Creek Recreation Area is an active Naval radio station. Proper military or civil service identification is required for enterance into Jim Creek.
