Picnic Sites – Day Use

Four small covered picnic sites are available for use at no charge. Each site can accommodate up to six people.

Remote Hike-In Sites

Jim Creek also offers three remote, backcountry sites. Located approximately a 1 ¼ mile hike out of the main camp area just off the Wheeler Mountain Loop Trail, these campsites are furnished with a fire pit including grill and elevated, level tent pads.

Campsites

Within Jim Creek Recreation Area, located along both sides of Jim Creek, are two car/tent camping sites, containing 15 individual campsites. These campsites accommodate tents, truck campers and pop-up tents. (For motor homes and trailers, please see the information provided for RV sites.)

Each site is unique in size and location and includes a picnic table, fire pit with grill and trash can. Vault toilets and water spigots are within walking distance to all campsites. Restroom and shower facilities are available on site for all guests.

Located along Coho and Jim Creek, these campsites have a maximum capacity of 6 people and a limit of 2 vehicles. Additional overflow parking is available.

RV Sites

The RV Park is a wonderful addition to the recreation area and offers sites that are nestled within the trees and offer spectacular views of the surrounding mountains. In recent years, it has expanded to include 16 sites.

Each site contains a 60’ concrete slab, water hook-ups, electricity, barbecue grill, picnic table, and portable wood burner. The original four sites (sites 13-16) also include telephone and sewer hookups. Shower and restroom facilities are within close walking distance.

Maximum occupancy is 6 people per site, limit of one tent and one vehicle (Overflow parking is available near the RV Park).

Group Sites

Cougar and Bear* campsites are designated to accommodate larger groups of 13 to 75 for tent camping. These campsites are ideal for command picnics, scout groups, receptions, family get-togethers and other group functions. Each contains a pavilion with electrical outlets and a large fire pit, picnic tables, barbecue grills, and potable water facets.

Situated at the base of Wheeler mountain, both are conveniently located near restroom and shower facilities, playground, picnic pavilion, softball field and volleyball sand court.

The Group campsites are reserved for tents only.

*Bear Camp can also be rented for day use and can accommodate a group size of 100.
