Indian Island Recreation Area

Indian Island Recreation Area is the Navy's best kept recreational secret in the northwest. Located in picturesque Port Hadlock, Washington, Indian Island is a great place for camping, fishing and enjoying the great outdoors.

Recreation Pass

A Recreation Pass is required to gain access to Indian Island facilities. This pass authorizes the holder and their family and/or 6 guests to use all areas of the island open for recreational purposes.

Camping

Fishing & Boating

	Boating
	Boat launches are located just north of the small boat pier at Crane Point. In addition, Anderson Pond has two small wooden piers that offer easy access to the pond for launching canoes and small row boats. Canoes, oars and lifejackets are supplied at the pond.
	Salt Water Fishing
	The waters surrounding Indian Island provide prime opportunities for salt water fishing. Fishing is permitted at Crane Point.
	Fresh Water Fishing
	Anderson Pond offers fresh water fishing for the angler interested in bass fishing. Two small wooden piers, a nature trail and the pond bank all provide access to the water for fishing. Canoes and row boats can also be reserved.
	Shell Fishing
	Beach #8 is open for recreational claming and oystering. Crabbing spots can be reached by motor boat.

Reservations for the exclusive use of a facility by a party/group for an unofficial function will be assessed the following daily fee:

Other Activities & Amenities

	Navy Exchange
	There is a small NEX located in Building 69, it is open Monday - Friday 10 am - 3 pm.
	Fitness Center
	Located in Building 151, this is a modern fitness center with aerobic and anaerobic exercise machines, shower facilities, a co-ed sauna, basketball, volleyball and racquetball courts. The fitness center is open 24 hours, seven days a week.
	Ball Fields
	A softball and a soccer field are located adjacent to the picnic area in Parsons Park. These fields are available seven days a week during daylight hours and may be reserved for large groups.
	Bird Watching
	Indian Island is a great place for bird watching. Anderson Pond, Walen Point and Boggy Spit are some of the best locations in the area. Anderson Pond has a nature trail and two small wooden piers that provide excellent vantage points for viewing nature.
	Gear Issue
	A limited inventory of camping and athletic equipment is available for rent. The office is located in Building 69.
	Diggers Social Center
	Diggers features pool tables, foosball, darts, big screen TV, bar service and a dance floor area. It is a perfect space for parties and banquets and may be reserved in advance.
	Tennis
	Two regulation tennis courts are located at Parsons Park. They are open seven days a week for day use only.

Reservations

Reservations for the use of the facilities must be made no later then 10 working days in advance of the requested date of use. Reservations can be made by phone at (360) 396-5343, but must be followed up with a reservation form within 3 working days.
