Collectively, Naval Base Kitsap offers upward of 30 dining options, NAS Whidbey Island boasts nearly 20 and NAVSTA Everett has half a dozen. For our sailors, families, civilian employees and contractors, this means a large selection of on-base options when choosing a dining facility. For the people involved in the day-to-day management and operation of these facilities, it means ensuring only the best for the vast number of Navy customers served each day.
Realizing the importance of maintaining high standards in all facilities, Commander Navy Region Northwest has chartered a Regional Operations Advisory Group (ROAG) with the goal of providing healthy, affordable and responsive food service to all Navy personnel in the Northwest Region as they execute the Navy mission.
The ROAG is comprised of principle stakeholders representing ashore galleys, afloat and expeditionary food service operations and recreational operations to include Name Brand Foods. Additionally, the group includes Customer Focus Members representing the various commands and customer groups who utilize Navy Food Services.

In April of 2008, the ROAG conducted an online survey to gain a better understanding of the wants and needs of customers in relation to food service on base. Over a 30-day period, 659 responses were collected, giving the group the valuable information needed to identify, prioritize and resolve issues that directly impacted customers. As a direct result of the feedback gained through the survey, the ROAG put into motion a number of changes around the region.
