Child & Youth Program Operations Clerk

Location: Naval Base Kitsap School-Age Care

Pay Grade: NF-0303-02

Summary of Duties: Serves as a contact point for information and perform clerical and administrative tasks in support of the Child & Youth Program. Duties are related to record keeping and reporting, liaison with families and programs, and collection and monitoring of fees and supplies. Prepare and maintain reports, correspondence, and statistical and financial data. Assure accuracy of child registrations and enrollments. Ensure USDA food program records are accurate. Maintain files and prepare daily, weekly & monthly reports in compliance with policy and procedure in a timely manner. Provide front desk coverage, answer phone inquiries, collects fees and payments.

Qualification: Must possess general knowledge of Youth center and its operation. A general knowledge of clerical procedures is required. Experience in the operation of a personal computer and software programs, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access is required. Experience working with military families and an understanding of military lifestyles is preferred. Experience with cash handling required. Must possess excellent customer service skills, verbal and written communication skills and the ability to multi-task and prioritize projects with deadline achievement. Must possess valid driver’s license. Must be 18 years of age and a high school graduate or equivalent AND 2 years of administrative experience. Ability to favorably pass pre-employment physical, provide evidence of immunization and be free from communicable disease.

Conditions of Employment: Work schedule may be a rotating schedule which covers early mornings, late evenings and split shifts.
