Location: Naval Station Everett All American Restaurant & Pierside Grille

Pay Grade: NF-2091-01

Employee assists in dining operation, support patrons with a welcoming and pleasant dining experience at Navy’s Pacific NW club and restaurant. Employee privileges include access to base facilities such as gyms, recreation centers, restaurants, and discount tickets to sporting and entertainment events.

Summary of Duties: The primary function of this position is to perform hostess/cashiering tasks. Incumbent greets guests, escorts them to table, alerting server that table has been seated. Coordinate activities involved in setting up for parties/catered events. May make table reservations for patrons as appropriate. Incumbent responsibilities include preparation of menu boards, secure supplies, etc for operation of facility. Ensures adequate change fund is on hand; takes food and drink orders from patrons. Assist in maintaining good order and discipline. Answer patron’s questions in pleasant, courteous manner. Ensure proper preparation, display and price marking of items and adherence to correct receipt and pricing procedures. Maintains sales records and inventory on daily basis. Follow procedure for safeguarding cash. Ensure compliance with fire, safety, sanitation and security regulations. Incumbent will perform some housekeeping duties, including washing dishes, sweeping floors, wiping down tables and taking out trash. Rings sales and/or ticket sales by individual items, totals the sales, receives money, and makes change. Incumbent is responsible for turning in receipts at the end of each shift. Monitors operation of assigned area of responsibility, periodically checking to identify and resolve problems which may arise. Enforce rules. Handle all phone inquiries. Incumbent ensures customer satisfaction. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Must have working knowledge of cash register operation and sales. Must be neat in appearance with ability to work with the public. Employee must complete operational duties with accuracy and efficiency to ensure smooth operation of the business and patron satisfaction. Work is primarily standing; however some walking, carrying and light lifting (15-25 lbs) is occasionally required in support of special events and functions.

Conditions of Employment: Incumbent required attendance of sanitation training course to obtain a valid health card. Offer of employment contingent upon successful completion of National Agency Check (NACI) background check. Availability to include work on evenings, weekend and holidays may be required.
