CYP Teen Program November Events

Grades 7-12, are invited to the Teen Program to take part in some awesome new programming & events! To be a member is FREE! 

Program Hours:
Monday 1:30-6 p.m.
Tuesday-Thursday 2:30-6 p.m.
Friday 2:30-10 p.m.

School Holiday Hours:
Monday-Thursday 2-6 p.m.; Friday 2-10 p.m.
* Occassional Open Receation on Saturdays, Field Trips, and Special Events planned throughout the year (fees may apply).

 

November 3: Movie Night - Watch one of ours bring your own! (PG-13 or under please) Snacks will be provided.

Keystone Club/Torch Club: We meet every Friday! These clubs plan our club events, volunteer in the community, and participate in national Boys and Girls Club competitions that win you trips around the US! Keystone club also has the opportunity to attend the National BGCA Keystone Conference. This year our club won a trip to Maine. We have a chance to win a trip to a new city each year!

November 6: Pinterest Party! - We’ll choose a craft idea off Pinterest and try out best bot to have a Pinterest fail!

November 7: Photography Club – Learn the fundamentals of taking a better photo to boost your Instagram likes. Find out how you can use your art skills to compete in our National Fine Arts competition!

November 8: Fine Arts Club - Using our fine arts equipment, we’ll teach you the fundamentals of a variety of arts skills. Find out how you can use your art skills to compete in our National Fine Arts competition! This is a continuing series you can join anytime.

November 9: Sewing Basics – We’ll teach you the basics of hand sewing and make some awesome for you to take home!

November 10: We are CLOSED for Veterans Day!

November 13: Money Matters – Learn how to adult! We’ll teach you how to manage your finances and set financial goals to help you pay for college or that new video game you’ve been dying to play.

November 14: Coding Club – We’ll take the apps and games you already love and use them to teach you how to build your own apps and programs! This is the first of series.

November 15: Rockwall Bouldering Basics -  Get some exercise on our rock wall and learn some basics techniques of bouldering.

November 16:  Culinary Club – Train to be a Master Chef. We’ll make (and eat) a recipe chosen by you!

November 17: Teen Talent Show! – Have a hidden talent or one that you love to show off? Come by and show us what you’ve got! We’ll be starting at 5pm and you can sign up in advance at the Youth Center. This is a sponsorship event so feel free to bring a friend to participate or watch.

November 18: Super Saturday – Ice Skating @ Bellingham Sportsplex – We’ll be departing at 11am and returning at 2pm. Price is $2 to register due at the Youth Center front desk and $5 to skate due at the Bellingham Sportsplex. Registration deadline is Thursday November 16.

November 20: Career Launch: Learn the skills you’ll need to land that future dream job! We’ll explore the art of resume writing, how to build soft skills, and more! We’ll focus on a different skill each month.

November 27: Book Club 1st –This club read and talks about a new book or graphic novel each month. Teens choose the book and we will vote on the book we’ll read the following month!
