Jan-YOU-ary Journey Bingo Fitness Challenge

Personalize your health and wellness goals all month long with our engaging Bingo card!

This challenge is open to all MWR-eligible patrons ages 14 and older. The challenge begins on the day you check out your card and runs for 30 consecutive days.

How To Sign Up

  • Sign Up at Gear Issue Desk OR Fitness Desk upstairs in the Seismos Fitness Center.
  • MWR Staff will provide you with a Bingo Card to complete during the challenge. (Please do not lose your card!)
  • To redeem prizes, return completed Bingo Card following the 30 days from your start date to Gear Issue Desk OR Fitness Desk for verification.

Challenge Rules

  • The challenge must be completed within 30 days from your start date.
  • One task completion cannot count toward multiple Bingo squares.
  • Read each challenge task carefully before attempting it.
  • Be honest with your logging—integrity is key to this challenge!
  • Write the date in the corresponding box immediately upon completing a task.

Prizes are awarded based on the level of Bingo completion achieved. Place winners for Tier 1 are determined by who completes all tasks first.

Tier 1: BLACKOUT (Complete all tasks)

Go Natural & Hydrate (3 Spots) Go all natural! No pre-workout, caffeine, or energy drinks. Hydrate solely with water during your workout Write the date in the square
2,026 Kettlebell Swings Celebrate the New Year by knocking out 2,026 swings (any variation) throughout the 30-day period Log total swings/date on the back of the bingo card
2-Minute Meditation & Breathing (2 spots) Self-Care. Complete two minutes of mindful meditation and deep breathing. You'll feel refreshed and recharged! Write the date in the box
Take a Dip Head to the Tsunami Pool during open swim for a minimum of 30 minutes. Float, glide, or practice strokes. Aquatics staff inital required
Out & About (3 spots) Get  outdoors (walk, run, bike, hike, sports, etc) Record your activity and date in the box. Write activity an date in the bingo square
SMART Goals Meet with a Fitness Specialists to define a Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-Bound (SMART) Goal. Fitness Specialist inital required
What Are You Gratful For (2 spots) Gratitude Shift. Write in the box what you are genuinely grateful for that day. Write the gratitude statement in the box
60-Minute Digital Detox (2 spots) Take a well-deserved break from the digital world. No technology (phones, TV, streaming, computers) for a full hour! Write in the date and time span in the square.
Bring a Friend (3 spots) Be an accountability partner! Bring a friend to one of our fun group fitness classes OR train together in the Seismos Fitness Center three (3) times. Write your friend's name and date in the box.
Carry On Grab a pair of dumbbells or kettlebells (approx. 40% body weight) and perform a 400-meter Farmers Carry (one lap on the track or on the treadmill at 1.5 incline). You got this! Log date and equipment used.
New Good Habit for ONE (1) Week Establish a new good habit (e.g., drink more water, prioritize protein, stretch) and tally the days you successfully complete it for seven consecutive days. Write the habit and tally days in the bingo square.
Jacobs Ladder Master your endurance! Conquer 15 minutes nonstop on the Jacobs Ladder Machine (2nd floor Seismos Fitness Center) Log the date, take a picture of the console, and share it in our Facebook Group for verification
Try Something New Get out of your comfort zone! Try something new—like learning how to deadlift, getting your first pull-up, or signing up for an MWR Community Recreation activity. Write the activity and log the date in the box.
Bring the Team Spirit Come and cheer on one of the teams during any January MWR Intramural Sports events. Sports or Gear Issue Staff initial required for attendance.
