Visual Information Specialist
Location: Fleet & Family Readiness - Service Center (Keyport, WA)
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: This position is responsible for utilizing graphic design skills to develop effective marketing/promotional/educational materials to support all N9 FFR Programs. Works closely with Installation Marketing Specialists and N9 Managers to ensure that effective communication materials are created to drive program attendance and revenue.
Responsibilities include graphic design, copy writing, editing for print, web and electronic media, photography, and print production (equipment such as digital press, laminators, folders, ream cutters, etc.) to support the N9 programs. Must provide excellent customer service and work to build good customer rapport into daily work. Handles administrative duties such as maintaining priorities and calendars, research, tracking publicity requests, and ensuring that marketing materials are distributed to the installations. Keeps current with real world marketing trends and should be well-versed in all areas of graphic design and production. Works with the regional Marketing staff to develop and disseminate regional marketing campaigns. May be required to work periodically at various regional sites in addition to their assigned location. May represent Fleet and Family Readiness Programs at meetings and/or be part of committees for special events.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Minimum of 3 years experience in graphic design and full working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud is required. A bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or graphic design is desired. A demonstrated knowledge of graphic design and marketing/communications including principles, methods, practices and techniques is required. Must have good written and oral communication skills and be able to display outstanding customer service. Must have skill in gathering and organizing information, developing marketing and promotional materials, and writing copy/editing for both print and Web/electronic/social media. Must have good organization skills and be able to work in a fast-paced environment. Experience in video/multimedia production a plus. Knowledge of Navy Community Programs and/or MWR is a plus. This position is subject to background check in accordance with federal regulations.
