Facility Project Coordinator

Location: Fleet & Family Readiness - Service Center (Keyport, WA)

Pay Grade: NF-0802-04

Summary of Duties: This position is located within the Fleet and Family Readiness Service Center Division and serves as the Project Manager for Commander, Navy Region Northwest (CNRNW) Fleet and Family Readiness (FFR) Programs.  This position coordinates work with Naval Facility Engineer Command, Northwest action officers and FFR programs located on Navy Region Northwest installations and frequently interfaces with CNIC N94 Facilities personnel.  Incumbent is responsible for representing FFR facilities improvement and sustainment requirements, to include: design, planning, and coordination of construction of appropriated and non-appropriated fund projects.  Services as the staff assistant for Region FFR facility improvements and maintains records of status on all construction projects pertaining to the region’s FFR program.  Responsible for supervision of 4-6 person Regional Maintenance team.  May be required to perform general maintenance and minor construction work and projects.

Qualification: Incumbent must have practical knowledge of civil/structural/architectural engineering concepts, principles, and practices applicable to the full range of duties concerned with the design, layout, and construction of N9 program specific facility structures. A minimum of 3 years specialized professional experience required.  A degree in facility planning, design, construction management or engineering is not required, but highly desirable. Technical familiarity with related engineering fields, such as electrical, mechanical and architectural specifications, as well as knowledge of review and evaluation techniques and contract specifications required. Knowledge of laws and regulations regarding the contracting/procurement of government services, as well as knowledge of the product expected.  Knowledge of building, safety and environment codes and regulations as well as knowledge of organization budgeting, planning and project management techniques preferred. Comprehensive knowledge of FFR service support facilities layout, standards and requirements to complete projects to improve the arrangement, reassignment or locations of materials, equipment, and personnel.  Demonstrated skill sets in operations, tactical and leadership.  Professional knowledge of industrial engineering concepts, principles and practices applicable to the full range of engineering duties associated with broad or complex engineering studies or projects.

Conditions of Employment: This position is subject to a background check in accordance with federal regulations.  Must have valid driver’s license to travel between job sites. Work requires regular and recurring visits to job sites to investigate, or survey in which there is considerable amount of walking, stooping, bending and climbing is necessary.
