BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: This position is located at the Fleet & Family Readiness Service Center Accounting Department. The incumbent is responsible for receiving, reviewing, examining and classifying a variety of standardized and non-standardized accounting transactions in support of multiple non-appropriated fund (NAF) activities. Responsible for reconciling account balances; work consists of verifying and balancing supporting document files, listings, and interrelated reports so that balances are in agreement for the reconciliation period. Reviewable documents include purchase orders, invoices, vouchers, and income sources. Responsible for closing accounts and preparing financial documents with accuracy and timeliness; provides accurate, courteous, and timely responses to management and customers.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Knowledge of standard accounting practices, regulations, requirements and procedures is required. Basic knowledge of procurement documents, such as purchase orders and contracts required. Previous non-appropriated fund (NAF) accounting experience desired. Experience and knowledge of Windows, Word, and Excel is required. Must be knowledgeable in the use of automated accounting systems and show the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
