Food Service Worker [4 positions]

Location: Naval Station Everett - All American Restaurant

Pay Grade: NA-7408-02/03

Employee takes charge of food preparation and performs excellent food service at the Navy snack bar operation facilities. Employee privileges include access to base facilities such as gyms, recreation centers, restaurants, and discount tickets to sporting and entertainment events.

Summary of Duties: Prepares and bakes variety of pizzas from prepared ingredients. Prepares sandwiches, including Italian sausage, meatball and submarines. Grills hamburgers, hot dogs, sandwiches, and French fries. Prepares fruits and vegetables for cooking and serving by washing, peeling, scraping and dicing. Makes coffee, tea, ice water, and other beverages. Cleans equipment in kitchen and dining area. Washes dishes, pots, pans. Coffee urns, glasses and flatware. Ring up sales on a cash register and make changes. Maintains a clean and neat condition of food serving area, kitchen utensils and equipment. Performs other related duties as assigned. 

Qualifications: Knowledgeable in all aspects of restaurant/fast food operation such as food storage and sanitation requirements. Must be able to use simple kitchen equipment and common kitchen utensils. Must be able to follow recipes and combine ingredients for pizza, salads and other menu items. Must be able to operate a cash register. Must be able to obtain a Food Handler’s Certificate. This position is subject to background check in accordance with federal regulations. Successful progression to an NA-03 level when appropriate skill and competence have been demonstrated. Ability to satisfactorily pass and complete background checks to include National Agency Check with Written Inquiries (NACI). 

Conditions of Employment: Work involves light to moderate physical effort such as lifting and constant standing and walking. Must be able to lift or move objects weighing up to 30 pounds to occasional lifting up to 45 pounds.
