Employee renders cleaning expertise and provides adequate and timely custodial and housekeeping services. Brief Description of Duties: Performs daily custodial and housekeeping duties which includes dusting, polishing furniture, shampooing, vacuuming and/or sweeping, cleaning/sanitizing bathrooms and kitchen area, and trash removal, Clean common areas like stairwells, hallways, elevators, toilets, kitchen and laundry areas including appliances associated. Provide cleaning services of UH rooms vacated by residents without proper inspection, and rooms requiring a change of occupancy service. Immediately report all damaged, destroyed, and non-operational building furnishings, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E) to UH staff. Ensures security and privacy of all guests is maintained at all times. Demonstrates a welcoming manner and effective communication skills. Professionally interact with guests. Provides assistance in handling customer complaints. Performs deep cleaning as required to include defrosting refrigerator, cleaning windows, replacing/cleaning of drapes, carpet shampooing or cleaning. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualification Requirements: Must have general knowledge of cleaning procedures, cleaning equipment, commonly used chemicals (including MSDS) and basic safety is required. Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing with management, staff and guests. Subject to possibility of workdays on weekends and holidays, as well as, rotating shifts. Complete physical examination at a military medical facility maybe required for fitness for duty requirement. Maybe required to possess valid driver’s license as travel to other facilities within normal scope of duties maybe required. This position is subject to passing a favorable national background check.

Conditions of Employment: Physical exertion is involved in standing and walking for long periods, some bending, stooping and lifting is required. Position requires a constant vigilance to ensure maximum security for youth, patrons and employees in and around the facility. Work is performed indoors and outdoors with varied work schedules and occasional weekend and evening hours in accordance with the requirements of the program at hand.
