This position provides quality customer service to all eligible patrons. Employee privileges include access to base facilities such as gyms, recreation centers, restaurants, Navy Exchange and discount tickets to sporting and entertainment events. Sign on bonus of $500 after 90 days continuous employment.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: This position provides a wide range of support and assistance that is in direct support of the Family Advocacy Program’s administrative and management functions within the Fleet and Family Support Program. The Family Advocacy Program supports clinical and case management programming for issues related to domestic violence and child abuse. Additionally, the employee delivers information and referral services to clients visiting or calling the FFSC.The incumbent manages confidentiality related to client care and all correspondence with executive leadership of Naval Base Kitsap and its tenant commands. Receives telephone calls, greets visitors, and ascertains the nature of the calls or visits. Personally answers substantive requests for information, which can be provided based on information from records and files or personal knowledge of services available. Maintain database with walk-in, call-in client statistics and provide date for monthly, quarterly, etc., reports. Maintains and inputs a statistical record of contacts into FFSMIS in a timely manner. Responds to inquiries by clarifying needs through appropriate questions and comments designed to develop necessary facts and by developing responses/solutions based on employee’s knowledge and experience in problem solving. Conducts follow-up to ensure inquirer’s needs are met, either by the employee and/or other offices/agencies to which the inquirer was referred. Prepares a wide variety of recurring and nonrecurring correspondence, reports, and other documents. Reviews and processes incoming and outgoing correspondence, materials, publications, regulations, and directives. Maintains staff calendars, coordinates meeting arrangements, and schedules meetings and/or conferences. Provides advice and guidance to FFSP staff and other clerical personnel on administrative, clerical, and procedural requirements and instructions, and assists in solving problems to which existing guidelines can be applied. Uses office automation software with varied functions to produce a wide range of documents that often require complex formats, such as graphics or tables within text, editing and reformatting electronic drafts, and updating or revising existing databases or spreadsheets. Develops methods and procedures for office automation tasks, and identifies and solves problems in existing methods or procedures. Performs other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Knowledge of the policies, regulations, procedures, and reporting requirements governing the programs of the FFSC. Knowledge of the military lifestyle, the unique challenges faced by service members/families and the array of services available to address these issues either through work assignment or life experience as a military sponsor, military dependent or similar. Formal education, training or at least six months work experience in the field of human services including military or communitybased human service agencies and programs. Skill in communicating with clients to obtain factual information and explain regulations and agency procedures and other organizations involved. Proficiency in grammar, spelling, punctuation, and format to prepare and edit written correspondence and reports. Experience with various office automation software to include Microsoft Office products.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: Candidate must successfully complete a formal background check and maintain security suitability requirements. Regular and recurring work performed sitting at a desk and sitting in conferences and meetings. Work involves dealing with sensitive, controversial and emotional issues.
