IT Assistant (Helpdesk)

Location: Naval Base Kitsap Keyport - FFR Service Center

Pay Grade: NF-2210-03

Summary of Duties: This position is part of a team that provides application and system support for Navy Region Northwest Fleet and Family Readiness systems. This position requires a strong balance between basic technical knowledge, administrative functions and strong customer service. Candidate performs a wide variety of tasks related to administration of the team, assisting as first tier support and handling administrative tasks to support team efforts. Work includes answering Help Desk line assisting system users, entering work order information, analyzing issues and resolving basic issues at a tier one level. This position administers many daily functions of the team including purchase requests in SAP, system/application user IDs, password resets, inventory & contract tracking, SAAR, FIPS, DRMO, NAF Credit Card Holder, scheduling and general administrative functions. Position requires a Security Certification that meets DoD 8570.01 IAT Level II or ability to acquire within 90 days of hire. CompTIA Security+ satisfies the requirement.

Qualifications: Successful candidate must possess strong customer relations and communication skills. Candidate must be a self-starter and work independently with a keen attention to administrative detail. Must be organized, able to multitask and work under stringent deadlines. One year of basic knowledge of computer systems, networks and troubleshooting skills is advantageous. Sound understanding of Point of Sale Systems, Citrix Systems, Windows operating Systems, MS Office Products, and SAP accounting software is desired. Three years Office Administrative experience highly desirable.
