Pay Grade: NF-0101-04

Brief Description of Duties: You will serve as a Supervisory Family Support Site Manager in the Fleet and Family Support Center (FFSC) of Naval Base Kitsap Silverdale WA. You will guide family support program staff to achieve compliance with family support accreditation standards related to counseling andadvocacy services. You will advise customers on work-life services programs (e.g. career, transition, relocation, personal financial management, employment, community life, emergency and crisis assistance, personal and family readiness). You will establish and maintain effective interaction with leaders (e.g., installation, local, state, federal, host-nation community resource agencies) to promote and develop coordinated community-wide services related to readiness and retention. You will interpret laws and regulations to comply with established provisions governing clinical services or counseling. You will conduct program planning meetings with staff to consolidate, integrate, and coordinate efforts to enhance social service delivery to customers.

Qualification Requirements: Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Advising upper level management on social problems and human service matters, 2) Developing long-range program plans to align with specific needs of the installation; 3) Respondingto complaints or problems identified by clients and/or staff and taking necessary actions to resolve; 4) Serving on installation and community committees, boards and counsels as the subject matter expert in the area of quality of life for military personnel and their families; 5) Overseeing policy matters related to implementation and functioning of family advocacy programs; and 6) Conducting needs assessments to ensure availability of family support and advocacy programs and services. Applicants must possess a degree in behavior or social science or related disciplines appropriate to the position OR combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field OR Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.

Conditions of Employment: Candidate must successfully complete a formal childcare background check and be able to obtain and maintain Secret security clearance. Regular and recurring work performed sitting at a desk and sitting in conferences and meetings. Work involves dealing with sensitive, controversial and emotional issues. Occasional travel outside the local commuting area may be required. To ensure compliance with an applicable preliminary nationwide injunction, which may be supplemented, modified, or vacated, depending on the course of ongoing litigation, the Federal Government will take no action to implement or enforce the COVID-19 vaccination requirement pursuant to Executive Order 14043 on Requiring Coronavirus Disease 2019 Vaccination for Federal Employees.
