Employee privileges include access to base facilities such as gyms, recreation centers, restaurants, and discount tickets to sporting, Navy Exchange and entertainment events.The primary purpose of the position is to serve as a non-clinical trainer and to collaborate with the Deployed Resiliency Counselor (DRC) and the command leadership in thecoordination and provision of integrated primary prevention programs and services.

Brief Description of Duties: This position is assigned to the Fleet and Family Support Program; Fleet and FamilyReadiness (FFR); Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC);CNRNW. The Fleet and Family Support Center (FFSC) is the Navy’s primary agency for the delivery of an array of human services programs intended to enhance the stability and self-sufficiencyof individuals and families, resulting in increased operational readiness.The success of this position is based on the incumbent’s ability to successfully embed within the commandand operate in a shipboard environment.This position is responsible for planning, managing, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating training, education, and outreach for integratedprimary prevention programs atthe command level.The incumbent serves as the Embedded Integrated Prevention Coordinator to support afloat and waterfront primary prevention activities and programming.Other duties as assigned.

Qualification Requirements: Knowledge and experience in effective prevention program activities to preventdestructive/problematic behaviors.Knowledge of the military language, customs, and culture to include navigating shipboard dynamics.Knowledge of the psychological and/or socioeconomic stresses caused by prolonged separations, which affect individuals, families, mission performance, and command readiness.Skills sufficient to provide technical assistance in prevention-related areas. Skill in delivery of education services, with a focus on human/personal growth and development.Skill in consulting with management to obtain or exchange information about work objectives, processes, procedures, and policies.Skill in networkingand collaborating with all military services. Skill in the use of Microsoft Office Programs(e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint,Outlook).Ability to meet and deal effectively with diversified groups, organizations and individuals and to maintain and establish clear relationships and lines ofcommunication at all levels using tact and diplomacy in all interactions.

Conditions of Employment: Must meet Federal Employment suitability requirements and successful completion of background investigation. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance. Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license. Must apply and maintain a US No-Fee Passport upon employment.Due to the unique nature of the position, selectees will be requiredto complete a physical examination upon entry to duty, and annually thereafter, and be determined to be physical fit for shipboard duty at all times.Must be able to obtain and maintain a US No-Fee Passport upon employment.The incumbent will be required to deploy at sea on board USNavy ships. Deployment lengthswill vary from a few days to over 10 months at a time.Must possess a valid driver’s license and have the ability to operate a motor vehicle. To ensure compliance with an applicable preliminary nationwide injunction, which may be supplemented, modified, or vacated, depending on the course of ongoing litigation, the Federal Government will take no action to implement or enforce the COVID-19 vaccination requirement pursuant to Executive Order 14043 on Requiring Coronavirus Disease 2019 Vaccination for Federal Employees.
