CYP Operations Clerk

Location: Naval Base Kitsap - Bangor Child Development Center

Pay Grade: NF-0303-02

*Sign-on Incentive Award of $500 paid after successful completion of CYP Orientation.

Summary of Duties: Serves as a contact point for information and perform clerical and administrative tasks in support of the Child & Youth Program. Duties are related to record keeping and reporting, liaison with families and programs, and collection and monitoring of fees and supplies. Prepare and maintain reports, correspondence, and statistical and financial data. Assure accuracy of child registrations and enrollments. Ensure USDA food program records are accurate. Maintain files and prepare daily, weekly & monthly reports in compliance with policy and procedure in a timely manner. Provide front desk coverage, answer phone inquiries, collect fees and process payments.

Qualifications: Must possess general knowledge of childcare center and its operation. A general knowledge of clerical procedures is required. Experience in the operation of a personal computer and software programs, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access is required. Experience working with military families and an understanding of military lifestyles is preferred. Experience with cash handling required. Must possess excellent customer service skills, verbal and written communication skills and the ability to multi-task and prioritize projects with deadline achievement. Must possess valid driver’s license. Must be 18 years of age and a high school graduate or equivalent AND 2 years of administrative experience. Ability to favorably pass pre-employment physical, provide evidence of immunization and be free from communicable disease.

Conditions of Employment: Work schedule may be a rotating schedule, which covers early mornings, late evenings and split shifts. These positions are subject to background check and pre-employment drug and medical screenings in accordance with federal regulations. Incumbent may be assigned to work at various Child & Youth Centers as needed within Naval Base Kitsap. The work requires considerable walking, standing, bending, stooping and lifting up to 40 pounds. To ensure compliance with an applicable preliminary nationwide injunction, which may be supplemented, modified, or vacated, depending on the course of ongoing litigation, the Federal Government will take no action to implement or enforce the COVID-19 vaccination requirement pursuant to Executive Order 14043 on Requiring Coronavirus Disease 2019 Vaccination for Federal Employees. Therefore, to the extent a Federal job announcement includes the requirement that applicants must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 pursuant to Executive Order 14043, that requirement does not currently apply. Federal agencies may request information regarding the vaccination status of selected applicants for the purposes of implementing other workplace safety protocols, such as protocols related to masking, physical distancing, testing, travel, and quarantine.
