Recreation Assistant
Location: Naval Air Station Whidbey Island - Cliffside RV Park
Pay Grade: NF-0189-02
This position provides quality customer service to all eligible patrons.Employee privileges include accessto base facilities such as gyms, recreation centers, restaurants, and discount tickets to sporting and entertainment events, and shopping at the Navy Exchange.
**Sign on bonus is $500 net and will be paid upon 90 days of continuous employment.**
Brief Description of Duties: Incumbent provides direct customer service to patrons using the facility. The incumbent greets customer, answers and refers telephone calls, schedulesreservations, takes messages and provide information regarding the facility and program. Responsibilitiesof this position will be to assist in planning, coordinating and executing activities and events in a family friendly campground environment for patrons of all ages.Use of point of sale system, computer programs, check out ofequipment, maintain records and reportsand collect fees.The incumbent will assist with keeping facility safe, clean, and report facility issues to manager or supervisor. The incumbent will perform clerical duties such as data entry, record keeping, financial tracking and inventory updates; maintains and updates bulletin boards. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualification Requirements: The incumbent must have one year of practical work experience including direct customer service. Basic computer knowledge with experience with data entry, word processing, internet, and e-mail required. Incumbent must have one year of experience handling cash and a point of salesystem. May be required to obtain CPR and First Aid certification within 90 days of hire. Incumbent must be able to perform basic mathematical computations. Incumbent must communicateeffectively and courteously using proper English grammar and punctuation. Must be able to follow verbal and written direction and present a neat and clean appearance.
Conditions of Employment: Successful completion of National Agency Background (NACI) Check required.High school diploma or equivalent is required. Must have valid driver’s license and may be required to drive government vehicles including light trucksand up to a15-passenger van.This position is a flexibleposition and incumbent may need to be available to work special events, weekends and holidays. The workperformed outdoors is subject to varied weatherconditions. This position is required to do considerable standing, bending, stooping, walking, pushing, reaching, climbing and lifting of objects weighing up to 50 poundsunassisted.
