Tsunami Pool

Due to COVID-19 precautions -Tsunami Pool is OPEN to Active Duty personnel ONLY and not to exceed 50% capacity.

Our pool features eight, 25-yard lanes ranging from 4-feet to 10-feet in depth and a diving well up to 13-feet with a platform for Command training. Employing a salt-water purification system giving a less harsh feeling on the skin.

We are currently offering lap swimming to Active Duty ONLY. There is limited lane availability; calling ahead is highly recommended or reserving a lane.

Current Facility Guidelines:

  • Health Screening prior to Entrance
  • Cloth Facial Covering when on deck
  • Shower Shoes are required
  • Only one individual per lane, lanes may be restricted
  • Limited use of locker rooms
  • No towel service/equipment available for use.
  • Limit workout time to allow for others to use the facility

Commands must have prior approval for any trainings.

 

General Pool Rules

Please review these general pool rules prior to coming to swim. This will make your visit more enjoyable.

  • Swimming suits must be worn in pool (no shorts, t-shirts, or inappropriate styles of swimsuits please).
  • Personal Flotation Devices must be US Coast Guard approved and must be authorized by the lifeguards. Personal water wing style and other aquatic novelty toys are not allowed.
  • A full-body soap shower is required prior to entering the pool.
  • Please, no street shoes in the pool area.
  • All children 17 & under must take the Navy Youth Swim Test to swim outside of the non-swimmer zone.

 

Frequently Asked Questions during COVID-19 precautions

I am Active Duty can I come in any time to swim?

It is encouraged you to call ahead or even, reserve a lane ahead of time to be able to use the facility. Lane reservations are available on the hour 0600-1200 and on the half hour 1430-1830.

Can anyone else swim at your pool?

Right now, we are only offering Active Duty lap swim with limited availability.

When will you be open for all swimmers?

Please call our office for the latest update, 425-304-3388 if after office hours please leave a message with your call back number.

I want to bring my friend and they are active duty; can I do that?

Yes, but definitely call ahead to make sure there is a lane for each of you. We are only allowing one swimmer per lane.

Are the locker rooms available?

Yes, the gym locker rooms will be available. They will be the only entrance into the facility at this time.

Is there towel service?

No, not at this time. We are following safety and sanitization protocols by limiting some of our services.

Do you have swimming equipment available for lap swim?

No, not at this time. We are following safety and sanitization protocols by limiting some of our services.

Are swimming lessons available?

No in-person swim lessons are being conducted; this is including adult lessons, youth swim lessons. Our Swim Qualification Clinics may be available for active duty, pending qualification requirements and skill level, please contact our office at 425-304-3388 for more details.

What is available for my family?

We will be offering online courses through the American Red Cross, if you are interested or have questions please contact our office at 425-304-3388. Information will be posted on our social media pages.

We are working on a Water Safety video series that will be available online in addition to other information on how to be safe around the water and to prepare for when swim lessons start.

 

Rules Regarding Children  (The Tsunami Pool is not currently open to children)

NAVSTA Everett has developed an opportunity for youngsters to use our pool for recreational purposes. Basic reminders that we ask you to adhere to include:

  • An adult or someone 16 years or older MUST accompany children under 10 years of age.
  • Children ages 10 - 16 years of age may swim unaccompanied after completing the swim test.
  • All children 17 & under must take the S.P.L.A.S.H. swim test.
  • Navy Youth Swim Test includes 25 yard swim on front with recognizable stroke on front, 60 seconds treading water, and a jump into 6 ft. or deeper water then exiting pool.
  • Children wearing life jackets must remain in the non-swimmer area with a parent in the water with them. Parents must remain within arm’s reach at all times.
  • Cloth diapers with tight fitting plastic pants or a swim diaper is required as needed.
